We Want a Raise!!!!
Many people recognize teachers as very underpaid individuals, who don't deserve the
pay that they get. Well, the general public is right. We know firsthand that teachers are hard workers who are underpaid. With them having to deal with what they deal with, they deserve a raise, hence the title. We wish that teachers would get a raise on their current salary of $53,410.
A reasonable raise for teachers would be a 4% raise, bringing it to $55,546.40. This will significantly raise their salary, by just over 2,000 dollars. This could benefit teachers in many ways. However, that 53000 number is for middle school teachers. The GA average is $33,664!!! The 4% raise would be a huge benefit for teachers across GA.

I hope that this will give a chance for teachers to realize how important their jobs are, so they can help be part of the cause to give teachers more work. Seeing this, this would encourage them to do something. We want our bill to be looked at by a legislator. If this occurs, a large audience of members will see how important having teachers are and how they can teach others better if given morale (extra pay). The same will happen for the governor, and the people will too. Eventually, the teachers will have more morale, giving students better education and the future generation a stronger economy.

(Everything above this line should be completed on the first week of a project; everything below the line should be completed by the day the project is due.)
We ended up with three multimedia presentations. The first is a twitter account. This didn't go very well, as we only had followers in the single digits. We then had two videos. One was the math behind it all: Matthew explained the math using a whiteboard. The other video was of Chase. Looking very professional, he explained the bill in detail. The last video was the best: the first didn't turn out as expected, but it still is good and functional. We also had a page long research paper and a letter to our representative. That is what we ended up with.
Overall, this was a very educational project. I learned a lot about how a bill becomes a law, and about my say in the government. It was interesting and all, but it pales in comparison to previous projects. I fell that this project was too educational, and while all projects should be educational, this just wasn't very fun. I feel that, in the future, students didn't have any requirements on their multimedia and less paperwork should be involved. However, it was very interactive and educational.

- What problem or issues have you discovered that needs to be addressed by the Georgia General Assembly? Teachers work very hard, and the issue of the fact that they make very little income is troublesome, and should certainly be addressed by the Georgia General Assembly.
- What proposals do you have in order to help solve the identified issues?
