The spanish threat
The Spanish were a looming threat over the small colonies, so that is why Georgia was established. Even though Georgia was protecting the other colonies, it was still weak, and could be attacked. The Georgia colony was what was called a buffer colony. It protects the other more successful colonies from the Spanish. This was one area that Georgia was successful in. The Spanish, who wanted GA, never came back after the Battle of Bloody Marsh, fought on St. Simon's Island.
